Invitations are in!

It's hard to believe but tomorrow marks the one month count-down to the big day...I say that mostly because the amount we have to do to make this thing a real party is still a bit ominous! Thanks for sending your rsvps...if you haven't yet (you're probably not reading this) please do so we can get an accurate head count for caterer, etc. Can't wait to see you!

Heritage Inn Hotel

Hi Everyone,

There is a great hotel just across the Interstate from the Wasserbahn called the Heritage Inn Amana Colonies. We also plan to have the vans stop here to pick people up and drop them off. Their rates are slightly better than the Wasserbahn's and they do have an indoor pool (no waterslides) so feel free to book here too - just let us know so we can get you a seat on the vans! Hotel Updates

Apparently the number I used for the Wasserbahn hotel is no longer the number the Wasserbahn hotel uses, so please follow the link to their website to get the most up-to-date contact information...Someone who tried booking was also told that check in was after 4pm...no worries, they assured us when we booked that folks would be able to get in earlier. You might call ahead to verify your room will be ready.

Additional Hotels in the Amanas

I've added a new link under lodging to some additional motels and bed and breakfast style accommodations in and around the Amanas. We're offering some sort of shuttle from the hotels at exit 225 where the Wasserbahn is. If you want to catch a ride, just make sure to email one of us williambehrends@gmail.com or mistercoghill@hotmail.com so we can put you on a pick up list. More information about the shuttle will be coming soon. Shuttle will basically pick up at the hotels at exit 225 between 2:00 and 3:30 and then we'll offer continuous shuttle service beginning around 9:30 pm from the reception back to the hotels. Nobody should have to worry about driving or transportation. Let us know if you have any special needs and we'll try to accomodate!

Entertainment and Barn Dance

Just wanted to prepare everyone for a fun evening of dancing with some information about our musicians. Acoustic Mayhem is a local group of five musicians who will be performing at the ceremony and the dance to follow (with square dancing, contra dancing, etc.). Wedding Registry and Fun-eymoon!

We've had a lot of questions about where we're registering, etc. Truth be told we have so much of what we already need, but we do plan to register with some traditional registries (e.g., Target) and will post links to those services here under the "Important Links" section of our blog. We also have been thinking about shaking up the Honeymoon tradition a bit and instead going on a fun-eymoon with our kids sometime soon after (this wedding is just as important to them as it is to us!) So we'll register with Honeyfund.com where you can help us realize our fun-eymoon dreams!

Wasserbahn Resort

By the way, if you choose to stay at the Wasserbahn, make sure you mention Coghill-Behrends Wedding to get our great room rates of 99.00 for a single and 129.00 for a double. We are hoping to provide a bus to and from the ceremony/reception from the Wasserbahn Hotel so folks don't have to worry about driving! Hey everyone,
Hopefully if you're coming to this blog you've just received your invitation! We're excited about the wedding and can't wait to party with you all on what we know will be a great celebration of our love and our beautiful family (we include you in that word family ;-)!!! Anyway, we have linked to the important things, like the Wasserbahn Waterpark where we've put several rooms on hold, a map of the area, etc. We do plan to take this blog seriously now (thanks Tim Coghill for being a loyal subscriber!) and actually post regularly.
